Sociologist Edward O. Laumann of the University of Chicago, the lead author of a major survey of sexual practices, The Social Organization of Sexuality: Sexual Practices in the United States, told me that at a certain stage, "Men trade up for younger women." This is often related to sexual desire. Laumann noted that this is the reason why so many woman die alone in nursing homes, while men die in the arms of a partner. In this article, I am going to walk you through a step by step process on why these issues may happen. I ask for you to not only read but take the time to see if any of these situations sit with you. Once you notice a situation that has occurred for you previously or currently I want you to ask yourself where this is coming from? I work with many clients and this is the most common thing woman face these days. I invite you to share your comments below and I will personally answer questions you may have and try to give you my advice tailored to the question you’ve asked. I love hearing from you so please feel free to post a comment.
“Women are open. They believe, they subscribe, and they go all in. They will do what it takes to meet the man of their dreams and put themselves out there,” says professional matchmaker, Susan Trombetti.  “They are more social, they are happy a lot of the times, and in this generation of women, they are the best version of themselves: educated, great friends, independent, great careers, and great family. They have a lot to offer someone.”
So I was seeing a really awesome guy for a little bit. We met through mutual friends and we really hit it off…but then he started to get busy with life, which is understandable, it happens to us all…we would always make plans to see each other but something would always come up to where he couldn’t make it. Then I get a random text how he has too much going on and he won’t be able to give me the time I deserve and how he’s upset about the whole situation because he can’t make it right and that I’m one of the most radiant things to walk into his life. I told him that I understand that life gets crazy and I’d be willing to do whatever it took to make it work and how happy I was since we met…I haven’t heard from him since…what should I do?!? Like give him some time and hope that he will call me? Or just try to move on? I don’t understand why all of a sudden I get pushed away and I’m unaware if I did anything wrong…I’ve been trying to wrap my brain around it but I get no where but sadness…
whenever I ask him what’s wrong with him it takes a while before I get just one sentence out of him, this has affected our relationship as communication is being lacked. Ik he’s a guy and doesn’t want to seem vulnerable I understand that but we had a over the text argument more like me yelling at him even though for days I have asked him if we can talk in person so we can settle this in person so no communication is being misinterpreted but all he did was bring up lil excuses not to talk to me or I’d ask him when we would be able to and he’d be like “Idk” and because of that I would overthink everything and then just hold everything in until finally I exploded. I usually hold my tounge with being sweet and patient and I was like that for about 3 days but I was done with him not talking about what is going on with him and us and it all started when I gave him the impression that I didn’t want to be in this relationship anymore. We were in the car and I was jumbling all my feelings and not even knowing what I was saying, I said to him that I wanted some space to get myself together so that I could love myself more for this relationship. And I think all he got from me talking was that I wanted space and that I didn’t want to be in a relationship with him because that’s usually something somebody would say if they wanted to end it slowly without saying “I wanna break up with you”. I shouldn’t of worded it like that but keep in mind I was PMSing to the max and I even told him that was why I freaked out on him and to try to understand not to take anything I say personal or even seriously.
Men often pull away because they're emotionally distracted or preoccupied. For instance, if he's dealing with a friend issue, stress at work, or other personal problems, he's not going to be able to devote his full time and attention to you. When your man has other matters on his mind and different issues to tackle, he's likely going to keep you at a distance in order to prevent feeling overwhelmed or overextended. When he's under a lot of pressure or dealing with disappointment or loss, being more closed-off can be a way for him to manage his stress before he's able to put his attention back on you.
He was so sweet, romantic, a gentleman, fun, funny. He made my heart flutter. He tried to recreate my pose in the photo of me he had made his desk top photo. (I had made his photo my screen saver on my cell too. lol) He was doing things to keep my comfortable and told me he didn’t come all this way for sex and proved he wanted more. We were like best friends. So compatible.
I also want to add that this isn’t the only reason a man will lose interest, it’s just the most common and most misunderstood one. The problem is most people don’t accurately define what the problem is. It gets written off as the woman being too available and not making him chase her. That is not really what’s at play here. Being available isn’t the issue, the issue is really not being present. It’s an issue that comes from seeking validation through a relationship rather than in your life.
This is why it’s important that not only do his friends like you, but you need to make sure that they love you! Don’t come across as fake though, they’ll be able to see right through you. Instead, be cordial, be friendly, smile and laugh at their jokes. Become friends with his friends’ girlfriends, too. If you can make a good impression on his pals, their love for you may be more than enough for your guy to finally realize you’re The One, and he will be ready to finally settle down with you.
#7 He has low self-esteem. If you’ve been together for a while and things have not gone financially the way that he thought they would, he may be feeling inadequate. When a man feels like he can’t provide the way that he wants to, the pressure of being with someone he loves can become overwhelming. Transferring his feelings of inadequacy to you, he may unwittingly be pulling away due to his own feelings of inadequacy, blaming you for his failures.

He knows I hate when he ignores me and sometimes I feel he does it purposely. It will only be a few hours so I know I’m also being irrational but during those times I completely get beside myself thinking he’s with the woman he slept with. Last night I went to his house and he basically kicked me out at 2am bc he was doing paperwork (taxes). He called me crackw%^*# and a liar, I’m not even sure why he would call me such filth and told me I’m too independent and I need to learn to be more submissive. Instead of arguing I should be making him dinner and cleaning his house. Other times he adores and worships the ground I walk on. This all started when I wouldn’t move in to his house bc I felt if he truly wanted to live together we could move into another house together. Plus he absolutely hates my dog, my apartment and basically everything I do. I ask him why he’s even with me if I have according to him so many “hang ups”. Advice please.

Keep him on his toes a little to make him wonder where you stand sometimes. Asking him what he is doing every minute of every day and planning things to do without giving him the opportunity to say yes or no can be signs you are becoming clingy and falling too easily for him. As we all know, it should be a mutual chase between the man or the woman. If the balance is off, it becomes too easy for him to take you for granted.

In my situation, I’ve been seeing the same guy off and on for the past 2 years. We didn’t talk all summer. We started talking and seeing each other again the first week of September up until 4 days ago I guess. The last time I saw him, I had spent a night with him, I dressed in lacy lingerie, garters and nylons cause he loves that kind of thing, he kept telling me how gorgeous and beautiful I was. He kissed me passionately, and this is odd because he doesn’t kiss on the mouth ever. He told me he had so much fun, and it was a great night. I left and haven’t heard from him since and it’s been 4 days now. I’ve texted a couple times and haven’t gotten a response which is odd. We always have a lot of fun together, we get along great, the past 7 weeks have been the best in all of the 2 years we’ve known each other. After a very passionate, great night, he drops off the face of the earth. Any ideas what could be going on with him?

You are in many ways his wife and his mistress in one person. You have perfect control over your emotions. You always present your “better self” to him. You avoid all the clingy behaviors that you know will turn him off. You’re friendly and mature…because you know you’re attractive. You don’t have to throw a tantrum just to keep his interest. No desperate tactics.
Do you think that you need to get into bed with a man just to keep him in your life?  Typically speaking, nothing could be further from the truth.  Having sex is not the solution to winning your man.  In fact, it can actually cause the exact opposite if he thinks you are loose with your morals. Giving yourself fully to who you believe your man is can remove the challenge and find him rushing off to accomplish another quest. Go with your gut instincts.
"It's really attractive when a girl takes initiative in bed; a guy won't think any less of you. It doesn't always need to be a tit for tat thing with giving and receiving. The norm of so many of my relationships has been doing 80 percent of the work and taking 80 percent of the initiative in the bedroom. I can't explain how refreshing it is when it feels like it's 50-50." Greg G.
good food for thought dave. my partner is 53 and divorced twice. so having his assetts split twice, and in second marriage time splitting with his son. i commend his bravery for taking the courage to still take the risk for seeking companionship with me. (who has also experienced both divorce once and child access splitting) we reassure each other that our assetts and finances are to remain our own, and up to self choices made for how much is shared towards gifts and/or meals etc neither of us want each other to be in our past experiences ever again,… Read more »
This was and interesting article. I’ve been seen a man for nearly a year. He has told me he loves me, but I get mixed messages and it’s causing me to be confused about the longevity of our relationship. He doesn’t plan time for dates or going out. He might say come to dinner the next day, but I might not hear from him about dinner, like he forgot. I feel that a lot of what we do is based on him and although he might ask my opinion, it’s often is not taken. I don’t feel like a priority to him. I’m confused, but I am in love with him. Help

Another important relationship tip for women is to show gratitude. In many relationships, certain tasks, chores, and other actions start to be taken for granted. For example, while your partner may have a routine of taking out the trash, putting gas in the car, or doing the laundry, saying "thank you" and showing your appreciation for your partner's actions are key components of a successful relationship. No matter how grand the gesture is that your partner makes, whether it's buying you flowers or flour, you shouldn't hesitate to show your appreciation.
Hey Adam I slept with a guy too soon and have been sleeping with him I don’t feel like he’s looking for anything serious cause he said he wants to take things slow after it all happened. I know he sees other women he told me he likes me an sees himself with me but not right now because he said he doesn’t think it will take much for us to get in a relationship so he wants to let more time pass he invited me to go on vacation with him I don’t know what any of this means really I tried to have an open talk with him about it by saying it’s okay tell me if you don’t want anything serious we can just end it now cause I don’t want to get hurt but he still claims he wants to be with me just not right away what do you think ? Should I run?
A man will be fascinated at seeing a new side of his partner (or crush) and will give her more attention for this pleasant distraction. Even something as minor as a change in hair color can do wonders. The reason why is NOT just because it’s a superficial change in appearance…but rather because you will feel more confident. You will have a sexy new look and can also try sexy new personality traits to go along with it. Want to be feisty for a change? Want to tease him more? Want to gently push his buttons and get him flustered? A change in appearance or in lifestyle will get his attention quickly.
My boyfriend for 4 months started calling and texting less as of the second week of January. It is true that he had some successive things happening one after the other which also prevented us for meeting since the new years eve. But despite that I let him know that I wasn’t happy with his careless behaviour. By the third week of January the date of his thesis submission approached and it just got worse. As I got bady ill for 4 days and he didn’t even get briefed because he did not ask how I was although he kept the conversation, I exploded on him and told him aaaalll I felt and went through and how he was absent when I needed him. My message just stayed unread on purpose till the morning and he tried to start a new normal conversation as usual like nothing happened. I was pissed off so I answered short, late, and tough. He stopped talking and by the time I cooled down he was already shut off. I ended up keeping the conversation somehow as he stopped initiating. By the following weekend I was near his area and we were talking so I asked if he feels like going out having some air. He made an excuse and I just headed home. We talked less and less through the following week, by thursday night we had a light chat and I asked how he was, he said that he was very tired and unhappy. As I asked why, is it going bad at work, my message just stayed unread till the morning. It was Friday 9 Feb. And he was quite responsive through the day, so I asked to meet and as he kept making excuses related to work, I just pushed more. So he just stopped responding to my messages and calls. Yes I know I did aaaall kinds of the things to avoid in these situations but I could not help but to see and understand what was happening to him that he had to express his unhappiness. After this incident I just disappeared too until valentine’s day at around 10 pm. I sent a brief apology message for my harsh words and putting the blame on him (when I exploded on him) while he was already having a hard time by himself. I wished him good luck with his upcoming thesis presentation (16 Feb) and wished him that he would never tell anybody again that he is tired and unhappy as he said to me the week before. I got an answer for this message that I was a wonderful girl and very understanding and I have nothing to apologise for and thanks for the good wishes and that I deserve the best and he hopes I will find what I deserve.
Getting a man to miss you can be tiring, so make sure you have the patience for it. Also, remember, men love to chase you, so give him something to work for. And if that's not enough to get a guy to miss you, we recommend you read James Bauer's Respect Principle, his best-selling relationship guide basically hypnotizes men to fall and stay in love with you with 1, dead-simple tip.
If your guy is hesitant to commit to you, going away on a trip with a few of your girlfriends will definitely catch his attention. The whole time you’re away, he’ll be driving himself crazy wondering if you’re meeting and hooking up with other guys. This is your time to completely forget about him, and just live in the moment! Feel free to send him a text here and there to let him know how much fun you’re having, but don’t stay glued to your phone. Give him time to miss you, and we guarantee as soon as you step foot back in town, he’ll be anxious to make you his girlfriend once and for all!
What I dislike about the article is that it really does not give any insight on how we can actually show the man that we were hurt and neglected. Would men like it if we had a come-and-go attitude? Is it too much to ask to think about the other person before disappearing? I don’t get it why we should be so bothered to not show our feelings, I doubt that a man would be more committed and less neglectful if after days he disappeared we would be like “oh I’m do glad I’m hearing back from you” as if everything is just fine. How convenient. It might give him the impression you had no problem with the whole thing while, while you did. Now let me ask you something personal since you are a dude, what about a man that does not text for 10 days while you had established daily or every two days fb messenger communication – while he gets online everyday and has liked another girl’s photo in the meantime. No, the girl was not a friend. I got really pissed off that he never talked to me for so long especially because of that and I told him. I disconnected and I do regret the whole situation. Just so you have the background, he was a guy I was seeing last year, we were together for about 3 months and when he sensed it was time to be official he just bailed out due to his personal problems-and indeed he was not at his best. He also quickly became distant and I blocked him with no explanation (I don’t take it that he would appear and disappear to taste) and then when I was calmer I unblocked him (did not reconnect though) and I explained myself. After another half year he texted me that he felt e distant too and reconnected with me and we had a daily communication pattern but we had not talked on where we stand which also bothered me.

What do you mean exactly by taking a step back? Seeing each other every few weeks already seems like a fairly large step back. How often do you guys talk during the day? Sometimes, talking on the phone or computer is what actually takes up the most time. Before you can figure out how to keep the relationship going, you need to figure out what you mean by taking a step back. Do you mean just talking on the weekends? Or only talking for a maximum of 30 minutes a day? I think that if you do not bother him too much (Which, let’s be honest, happens to just about everyone after a break up) with texts and calls, I think that he will start to miss you. If he is as perfect for you as he says, then he will end up thinking about you just as much or more after the break up. If I were you, I would just tone down the messages and calls. Wait for him to come around, and if he does not, you know that the relationship is over.

I hope this article helped you learn what it takes to make a man miss you and want you even more. But that’s not all it takes to have an amazing relationship. Do you know what really inspires a man to commit? Do you know what it takes for him to see you as girlfriend material, as a woman who is a cut above all the rest? If not, you need to read this next: The #1 Things Men Desire in a Woman
It is very important to cultivate position communication with your husband or boyfriend. This will make him always confide in you and bring you both closer to each other. Make it easier for him to share with you how he feels by being patient and active listener. You should also come up with a positive way to communicate your feelings to him about how you feel when he acts distant. This will make him realize that he can always talk to you about his personal issues and other problems related to the relationship without affecting the relationship.
You are aware that this relationship will be long distance for a minimum of two years. Determine what you want for the future of this relationship. Decide if this relationship is viable. It is important for him to focus on his work, as Cyprus is currently an unsafe environment. Share your thoughts and feelings with him. Give him a chance to do the same. Have a great day, Jane!
I always end up missing my boyfriend, we see each other at school but when we depart, especially on the weekends, I always end up missing him, I always would end up spam messaging him unintentionally and constantly messaging him since he's always busy and we rarely text often. I'll learn not to do that anymore, I also taught myself to stop thinking of him constantly to where it would stop me from doing my work. All I know is that I will see him again and he will text me back soon... I do love him, but I have to try keeping it healthy for us.
I stayed up late last night to read your words. I was searching for some consolation to a negative thought in my head, and I found it. And here you are again today. You nailed it. Only through extreme heartache, researching yourself, and learning the lessons can you truly appreciate your eloquently written words. You are so highly skilled. What a gift. You found your calling. Ox

If you are calling, emailing, and texting your partner incessantly and also doing all the asking out, then a man will not even have to lift a finger. The best relationship advice for women from men is: You need to keep the communication in balance. This does not mean that you never ever reach out to the man that you are dating but, you should allow him to ask you out at least in the early stages.
Wow! That was an incredible stomp on Gent.Jim…… I loved it! Soooo many men unfortunately think like him… I’ve met several…. Im 37 and take pretty good care of my self ,have an outstanding sex drive and dont see anything wrong with having sex with some one you feel comfortable with.(NO I haven’t had sex with tons of guys….just 5 in my whole life) I also hate this double standard where it is okay for a guy to go out and have sex with as many women as he wants and that’s acceptable but when a woman does it not even to the same degree, she’s a whore, tramp, or a slut……I also don’t believe that just because a woman was promiscuous when she was younger means that she isn’t good relationship material when shes older….. Just because a woman made certain decisions in her younger life doesnt mean she is incapable of changing her ways and maturing and realizing what’s good for her and what’s not…. Its no different than a guy doing silly stuff that gets him into trouble when he’s a kid and then growing up to be a respectable gentleman…… Or is it being suggested that only men have this ability/right? I have always been in longterm relationships since high school infact got married right after graduation and stuck with it for 13 yrs and have NEVER once cheated on any one. (I have been cheated on uncountable times)But If I like a guy and am attracted to him and sexual feelings are mutual I dont care if it is 5 min 5 hours 5 days or 5 months after meeting him….. Im going to do it if it makes him and I happy….That doesn’t make me a bad person or bad relationship material….Like I’ve said… Ive never cheated, I try to choose my partners wisely ,I use common sense and I use protection….. Which by the way in my experience is twice as cautious as any man I’ve ever dated. Most men Ive dated always want to have sex on the first date and NEVER seem to carry protection, expect the females to carry and most of the time dont even care if you use it any way! Actually in most cases they would rather not! Ive dated (not slept with)LOTS of guys and have found what you say in your article to be extremely true….which is precisely why I don’t sleep with very many of them. And boy…..Lol….If we ladies were to judge a man on his past behavior I hate to say it guys ,but 95% of you would NEVER get laid!!! Men do a lot of mean nasty degrading dispicable hurtful unnecessary cruel heartless disgusting things when they are younger and some continue on into their adult lives. The thing is… Women tend to look past these things with open minds understanding that a persons past does not always mean to expect that behavior in the future as we understand that human beings grow up mature and change their behaviors…. Its the twenty first century and men need to crawl out of their caves……Its a woman’s world as much as it is a mans and the rules of nature apply to all of us in the same manner…none of us are exempt…..If a man plans to judge a woman by her past than he’ll need to expect the same from her….Good luck with that guys! There is no such thing as “too soon” for sex. In my opinion…its about chemistry ,attraction ,desire and closeness. The right moment isn’t a time its a feeling. A moment where you make a mutual decision to be close with some one…. I believe there isn’t a bad time for sex…but a bad reason….. Its the intensions of the sexual behavior that I feel are important….. Not when it happens… And honestly if we were to base sex off of intensions….Where would that leave men???? Just a thought…
On the other hand, you’re wild and out of control in areas where it counts: like sex! A man wants to feel like he’s losing control sexually, like you’re even more insatiable than he is. You want sex more than he does, if that’s even possible, and there are no taboos you’re unwilling to discuss. You’re not a prude. You just haven’t decided yet, whether he’s worthy of you and knowing your fantasies.

In other words: he becomes the center of your world and ultimately, that makes him even more distant. When a man senses that you’re so invested in him and how he feels about you, he becomes turned off. He was attracted to you in the first place because you had a life outside of him. He loved the fact that you made yourself responsible for your own happiness.

I’ve been seeing a guy who lives in same area, since last summer, we bump into each other at shop and been out with each other few times, all good and sparks fly when we see each other, I saw him other day in shop, we chatted for a while then he asked if I wanted a cup of tea at his as my daughter was out with friends, got to his and once again he had an errection , he says it only happens when I’m around and never happened before, I start kissing him and we ended up in bed, after I left , he text the next day hoping I had a good weekend, I replied, then all the next week he didn’t return my text but he had read it, I left it 4 days then text again, by the end of week he replied that he had a lot on funeral mediation with ex and long hours at work, which I know all this to be true, but he would still love us to stay friends, now he stopped texting and calling but only replies when I text, so I rung him, he answered my call like nothing was wrong , I also apologised for being insensitive to his feelings, meaning I may of rushed things on the day I met up with him, he said I have nothing to apologise for ? What’s happening here?
#9 Give them plenty of space and freedom. One reason guys don’t want to commit is because they often feel like it’ll trap them. They want their freedom and space so if they don’t even become official with someone, they’ll keep it. That’s how they think, anyways. Show him that you’re more than happy to give him that space and he’ll be more willing to commit. [Read: 10 obvious hints guys give when they need more space]
3. Forgiveness. The majority of young and middle-age men I have interviewed say that forgiveness is "huge" to them, and that grudges are wedges in their relationships. When these issues arise, they're ready to have the "relationship talk." Psychologist Sonja Lyubomirsky of the University of California, Riverside has written of the importance of the forgiveness factor in relationships.

Well, Eric Charles is the guy and he promotes the masculine behavior. For God sake, women, our message is clear what we want in a relationship. I am tired that we are always trying to please those guys and etc. The reality is that guys behave as they want and we need to adjust to their particular needs. All those articles say that we need to understand their mindset and how they function so that we could finally find a happy relationship. We basically have to play games. Men are really complicated. Women are very simple. If they want something they say. shhh!!! watch out!! If you say this, the poor guy will be frightened. He does not want to commit. Do not make love with him because he will get what he wants and again he will not want to commit. Jesus! Then, why they do not try to understand how women function and to adjust. Most men are absolutely idiots when it comes to the relationship. We women can give some classes to our sons so that at least new men generation would be more aware of the subject which is “women”.
Even though every relationship has its ups and downs, successful couples have learned how to manage the bumps and keep their love life going, says marriage and family therapist Mitch Temple, author of The Marriage Turnaround. They hang in there, tackle problems, and learn how to work through the complex issues of everyday life. Many do this by reading self-help books and articles, attending seminars, going to counseling, observing other successful couples, or simply using trial and error.
I met a guy, we went on a few amazing dates, he bought me gifts, was always super keen to see me, (i was away a lot so we only saw each other 5 times), then, out of nowhere bam! he starts to pull away. Only i didn’t realise this is what’s happening. The last time i saw him, him was kind of distant, but he stayed over and went to work the next day. I knew he was busy, so i didn’t expect to hear from him, plus it was two days before Christmas. When he hadn’t responded to my text i sent a cheeky one joking about where he’d been and he said he’d been super busy and that he had the flu. The texts got less frequent over Christmas and new year and everything i suggested meeting up, he ignore the request, but replied in the usual manor.
Sometimes, it’s not about what he wants but what he doesn’t want. Maybe he’s not sure about committing to you. But what if he’s sure of not wanting you to commit to someone else? Make use of that fear of his. Casually drop this bomb in conversations that you have, you know, like how you’re tired of immature boys in your life who don’t want to commit, and how X (a friend of your friend’s) likes you. Let him connect the dots and then watch fear creep into his eyes. That’s one spectacular way on how to get him to commit!
Whether you’re in a new relationship or have been with your partner for a while, you must consider this key relationship advice for women if you want to succeed. Since relationships can be challenging and can have their fair share of ups and downs, being prepared for whatever a relationship can bring is imperative. For women especially, it’s important to take heed of these five essential pieces of advice in order to have the kind of long-lasting, happy, and healthy relationship that you so desire and deserve.

In the dating world, I often see that one of the most common reasons men pull away is that they find the woman to be challenging, and she gives in because she likes him. She starts settling and making excuses for his lazy or inappropriate behavior. There are many times I see a woman dating a man, and he shows all the signs that he is not ready for a relationship with his behavior and his words. Instead of pushing yourself towards him in the hopes of changing his mind, I believe the right thing to do in this situation is to dig deep into your feelings. If you can control your feelings by maintaining a friendship, then go for it. (And I’m not talking about being “friends with benefits.”)
We’re all about empowered woman, but when you don’t let your man do even as much as change a lightbulb for you, it will make him feel inferior and not needed. Remember, his self-worth is directly connected to his ability to provide for you and protect you. Let him open doors for you, fix what needs to be fixed, pick you up late from the train station, etc. And if you make more money than him, still, let him pay for things. Being strong and independent is wonderful, but it doesn’t mean you can’t accept help or courtesies from other people.

So, when we just recently broke up, we talked about a lot. He was bawling his eyes out the entire time. I could clearly see how much this was tearing him up. He’s explaining to me all these reasons that just don’t add up with how the actual relationship was. We were happy. We were best friends. we were so in love. We talked about out future together, moving out, getting married, careers. I have a connection with him who I don’t have with anyone else and its impossible for me to see me having that with anyone else. I could go on and on and on.
4. Appreciation. Men really do want to be respected and appreciated. For many, this may mean that they need a lot of stroking. Their partners should be aware that praise and gratitude work wonders, emotionally and physically—as long as it's truthful. And along with the truth, men want partners to tell them what they want, as a perception of nagging makes them feel unappreciated.
WOW! WOW! WOW! Guys, seriously this article should be preached (especially the fourteenth one haha). My boyfriend and I are together for two years now and he’s taking me to prom this year. So excited I’m gonna pass out!!! He’s a pretty tough guy and you gotta have patience with him, but he sure knows how to pull some romance tricks on me like flowers before school or my biggest addiction – chocolate. And now I can pay him back.

Remember that oh so fabulous life you’re living following the end of your relationship? Well, it just got even better because your friends just invited you on a girls trip to a tropical island! It’s the perfect opportunity for you to get away, get some sun, sip a few cocktails, and forget all of your worries. And since your ex no longer gets the privilege of stalking you on social media (you did unfriend him, right?) you have to find a way to let him know just how much fun you’re having on your trip. That’s where the postcard comes into play. To really make your ex miss you, have the best time of your life on your vacation, and mail him a postcard from your exotic locale. It’s the easiest way to show him that your life hasn’t stopped since the demise of your relationship, and don’t be surprised if he calls you as soon as you return home to get all the deets on your amazing trip.

I was with my bf for 4 months. A long distance relationship. He told me Xmas weekend that he had fallen in love with me. We have a huge communication barrier though. So recently it was getting to me and I went home upset.he knew that I was upset he said he’s sorry he is not capable of making me happy and he still is in love with me and is bummed but he doesn’t think we may be a match. I believe he is genuinely upset. Maybe the distance was taking its toll. I didn’t want it to end but now it has and I spoke to him on phone and wanted him to change his mind. I still have some things at his house. It now has been 2 days since I spoke with him. I intend to not contact him..in hopes that he will miss me. I mean, if you are in love as he claimed 3 weeks ago I would think not talking to me for more then 3 days will get to him. I also told him I would come get my things tomorrow but I have now chosen to skip that and make him wonder what I’m doing. I will go get my things in a week or 2. I’m sad cuz I love him too. Any suggestions/opinions would be appreciated!!

My boyfriend of almost four years broke up with me and I’m so sad. He’s been reaching out to check on me for the first four days and then just dropped off. How would this article apply to my situation? I’m not clinging to the hope of him coming back, but there’s always a chance he’ll miss me and realize what he lost. I’ve been initiating no contact with him.

Why men pull away is a mystery to women, especially younger women who are trying to make their man to commit, everything is going perfectly fine, and all of sudden their boyfriend starts acting distant. If you find yourself in a similar situation, you may be having unlimited questions about what the exact reason is why he is acting distant and cold. You may be thinking if you did something wrong. This can make you feel hurt, angry, and confused. There could be various reasons why your boyfriend or husband is acting distant and withdrawing from you. Maybe your boyfriend does not want a long-term relationship with you, or maybe your husband is having issues at his work place and he is trying to find a solution. Maybe none of these reasons are true and there is no spark left in your relationship and it’s time to move on.

My ex and I were together for 8 months in a very happy and healthy relationship. We had honest and open communication, we barely argued, great sex, we had trust and supported each other and overall just adored each other. He treated me extremely well and we were grateful for each other, his family and friends loved me and vice versa. After spending the last 5 weeks straight of our relationship together, making many memories and going on dates etc, literally overnight he told me he didn’t want a relationship anymore. To this day I can’t understand why, I gave him everything and he kept telling me I did make him happy and I was perfect and this had nothing to do with me, he just didn’t want it anymore and he needed to “be selfish and work on himself”. There’s been no contact whatsoever now for almost 2 months, but I still think about him every single day and get upset no matter how hard I’m working on myself. He had all the space and time and respect from me in the world to work on himself while in a relationship I don’t understand why I wasn’t wanted all of a sudden. Does he think about me at all? I don’t think he’ll ever regret it but the thoughts are driving me literally insane …
For example, imagine being excited about an upcoming girl’s weekend away. Your man spends the week before the trip telling you not to talk to guys, to be careful about where you go at night and to make sure you ring him twice a day. Then, he does some research and decides the city you’re visiting is dangerous, the traffic sucks and a massive storm might hit.
